The 2022-2023 Academic Year Spring Semester Course Registration Procedures

Course Registration for the 2022-2023 Academic Year Spring semester will start on 07 February 2023 at 10:00 and will end on Thursday, 16 February 2023 at 16:00. The system will remain active for advisor approval until 23:59 of the same day.

During the course registration process, we kindly request you to pay attention to the following points:

• Course registration is made through the Student Information System (OBS). The videos pertaining to the instructions can be accessed here

• After course selection is made, it must be sent for advisor approval. It is crucial that the advisor's approval is received. Otherwise, your course registration will be invalid.

• Courses must be chosen in accordance with the course plan of the relevant curriculum. You can find the current lesson plans here.

• To be able to register for courses with prerequisites, you must have succeeded in the prerequisites of the relevant course. For language courses with prerequisites, you need to register for the required level that is determined through the exam held by the School of Foreign Languages.

•  In the relevant semester, you must take the common courses and/or courses available within the scope of our multilingualism policy.

• In order to be able to register for the courses, the “General Information Form” that appears in the Student Information System must be filled in completely. Otherwise, the course registration screens will not be accessed.

For your questions and problems, we kindly ask you to first review the Frequently Asked Questions.

• Please also review the Internal Contact Guide (published on iber.ihu.edu.tr) which explains which departments are responsible for which issues and/or processes, as well as how to contact these departments.

· Students enrolled in a double major or minor program can enroll in overlapping courses if the courses they plan to take from their second program and the courses they plan to take from their main program overlap. To do so they must get the approval of both instructors and the advisors of both programs. Also they must fill out the Registration Form to Overlapping Courses for Double Major/Minor Students, sign it using a wet signature, and submit it in person to Student Affairs before the final day of the add-drop week.

·Overlaps  in major courses are allowed up to a maximum of 3 hours for 4th year students, and up to 1 hour in total for students in other classes. You must fill out the Registration Form for Overlapping Courses for any overlapping course, sign it using a wet signature, and submit it in person to Student Affairs before the final day of the add-drop week.

• The ECTS load of the courses you have taken (and will take) should also be considered, since the monetary scholarship of students who are entitled to it will be cut off in case the course load requirement for the semester is not met. However, if you have taken extra courses in the previous semesters and you are meeting the required cumulative course load, you may enroll in fewer courses during the current semester.

·Since preparation program students do not perform the course registration process, they may ignore this e-mail. However, they must fill out the Module Registration Renewal Questionnaire which appears on their Student Information System upon sign-in.

We wish you a successful semester.
